Back from holiday!

Hi everyone

Sorry it has been a little while since my last post. This is because of two things - firstly, my Diploma in English Language Teaching (very boring) and secondly, because I went on holiday (very exciting)!

I have just got back from a week in Switzerland which was fantastic. We flew into Geneva and flew out of Zurich and as you may know there are a lot of big mountains in between so we had fun exploring those! You can see from this picture how beautiful the place is.

Needless to say, we ate lots of cheese and chocolate, yodelled in the mountains and saw lots of clocks. I highly recommend it to all of you!

Cheers!

Oh my god... the teacher is dead!

This is a short horror movie made by the students of BSC in summer 2006! They wrote, directed, and filmed the whole movie in 50 minutes... enjoy!

Is spelling important?

The spelling in the text below is not good... but can you still read it? Send me a comment with your thoughts...

The Snow

This is a picture of my house in Japan in March 2005 - you can see there is A LOT of snow. It was the best snow-boarding season of my life!

Hot 8 Brass Band

This is a clip of the Hot 8 Brass Band from New Orleans in the USA. They lost everything in Hurricane Katrina in 2005, but stayed together to continue to make music to help people stay positive and happy. This is a live performance from Paris in 2008 and is a remake of the classic "Sexual Healing".

Introduction

Hi everyone - welcome to my blog!

My name is Richard Turnbull and I am an English teacher at British Study Centres in Hove on the south coast of England. I have been working here for the last two and a half years and I really enjoy it - particularly when I have nice students!

I am originally from Chichester, a small picturesque town about 1 hour along the coast from Brighton. My family still live there so I visit quite often. I have lived in many countries though - the USA, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, France, Australia and visited many more.

In my free time I enjoy the outdoors - hiking, camping, mountain-biking and running. I am hoping to get fit enough to run the London marathon one day. In this blog you will find text, pictures, video and audio of things I like or find interesting. Feel free to comment on them if you wish, I would love to hear your thoughts!

Enjoy!
Richard
